Headshot of Kylie Nolan, surface pattern designer and illustrator

ABOUT KYLIE

Kylie comes from a creative family and developed an interest in computers and graphic design at an early age. Not understanding design was a “proper” job, she completed a science degree after school. Ironically, she then proceeded to get work in television production, specifically as an on-air graphic operator and producer.

After travelling around the world for work and pleasure she settled down to have a family, taking up illustrating as a hobby. This led her to discover surface pattern design, and on a whim open a Spoonflower.com shop. After early success in their design competitions she was hooked on pattern making.

Her illustrations have appeared on dresses, children’s clothing, beeswax wraps, reusable nappies, cushions, bedding and prints.

When not designing you can find her walking with her dog, playing video games with her son and in the kitchen trying to eat healthy food.
